The Guanghua-Kellogg Executive MBA program will hold master class and info session in Bangkok on April 23rd, then in Singapore on April 24th. The event, "New Finance in China: Finance 2.0" will feature Professor LIU Qiao, Associate Dean of the EMBA program at the Guanghua School of Management, Peking University.
LIU will lecture on how the Chinese economy is transitioning from an investment-led to an efficiency-driven economy. Finance plays a critical role in this process. However, the structural flaws associated with the current practice of finance in China ("Finance 1.0")–low efficiency, limited coverage, and suboptimal structure–are constraining China’s economic transition.
Professor LIU will detail how, as the Chinese government gradually deregulates the finance sector, new financial services and business norms are surging to the fore. They are challenging traditional financial practices in China, and re-defining the financial landscape. China’s demand for the second generation of financial intermediaries and markets must be met in order for China’s future development rates to be sustained.
