Strategic Start-up Workshop

For all those with wish to further their business ideas or those who want to know more about the start-up process and the strategic planning lessons that will help every phase of business.

Join us for a 5 session intensive program on the process of start-ups and the strategic planning process for evaluating change in business models. This workshop is for those with business ideas, those seeking new business ideas, those who want to work with a start-up and those who wish to add a new way of strategic planning to their business skill repertoire.

This work shop will cover the idea phase, market research, customer identification, business modeling, launch strategies, early stage finance, strategic partnerships, making a successful elevator pitch and more, all taught by experienced successful entrepreneurs and businessmen. Individual advising available for your business! This program is open to all students in Peking University.

Choose 1 – I have an idea I’d like to expand, I am part of a team that is applying to this workshop. I’d like to find an idea for starting my own business, I’d like to work on an existing team, and I want to learn about the start-up process and the strategies it teaches.

Other Notes – workshop should be limited to 50studentsor10 teams (because part of the time will include 1 on 1 advising for the teams. Not everyone will be on a team)

Speaker:

John LaPidesis the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the University of Maryland's Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship. Now he is also the Entrepreneur-in-Residence in theCenter for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. He has spent his life as both a successful entrepreneur and angel investor; so he has plenty of experience from both sides of the table. He has been an Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Maryland’s Smith School for over 10 years and will serve as chief judge for the competition in May, 2014.
